Alkali Metal Test Engineer

Protingent Staffing has an exciting contract Alkali Metal Test Engineer opportunity.

Job Responsibilities :

• Collaborate with internal customers to translate conceptual requirements into actionable test specifications, including design input, instrumentation strategy, and success criteria.
• Will serve as test engineer supporting experimental design, operation, repair, and analysis of tests to supporting the reactor with an emphasis on high temperature liquid sodium systems.
• Coordinate cross-functional efforts including fixture design, control system integration, and lab space planning, leveraging technicians, designers, and facility personnel as needed.
• Design and select instrumentation for testing, based around data acquisition and control hardware and software, to meet experimental test objectives.
• Develop and document test plans, test designs and test procedures for experimental work.
• Conduct data analysis and generate test reports.

Support continuous learning and application of nuclear industry best practices in order to maintain the highest quality of engineering design and proactively identify process change / enhancement opportunities.

Job Qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree in applicable field of Engineering.

Alkali metal or molten salt testing and handling experience is preferred.

Three (3) or more years of relevant experience in a testing / research and development environment preferred.

Experience with post-processing and documenting experiments.

Experience in design and integration of data acquisition and control system platforms.

Experience with hands-on assembly and operation of test systems.

Experience working with fluid systems is preferred.

Experience with multiple types of testing (R&D, Acceptance, Validation, Qualification).

Ability to work on multiple tasks concurrently during a given work week.

Excellent writing and communication skills.

Safety conscience.

Ability to operate within a lightly structured environment where test development requires a mix of standards-based guidance and first-principles problem solving.

Familiarity with engineering tools such as LabVIEW, SolidWorks, Jira / Confluence, and the Microsoft Office 365 suite is preferred.

Actual position starting level and title will be determined based on assessment of qualifications.

Pay Rate Range : $46- $74

Pay rates are approved based on candidate location, education and experience

Location : Everett, WA

Travel Required : 0-5%
