All facilities honor active compact licenses. First-time travelers are welcome with a minimum of 2 years of experience. Candidates with less than 2 years or no experience with C-Sections will be screened. Intermediate AWHONN certification is required for manager approval. Floating to the postpartum unit is required. The unit cares for high-risk antepartum patients from 6 weeks to 41 weeks gestation, including those with PTL, previa, preeclampsia, diabetes, hypertension, PROM, twins, and substance use disorders in pregnancy. Care of fetal demise or loss of patients is part of this position, both antepartum and postpartum. Care will also include postpartum mothers with babies in NICU, as there are no newborns on this unit. The unit provides support for amnio or sterile spec exams at the bedside. Familiarity with PCA pumps, PICC / central lines, syringe pumps, anticoagulants, insulin drips, and magnesium sulfate therapy is necessary. Candidates must be able to assist with sterile speculum exams, circulate for C-sections, and maintain central lines. Candidates should be aware of reliable transportation requirements. Compliance with all onboarding items must be completed timely prior to the start date.
