In this role, the Assistant Store Leader will operate with minimal supervision and support the Store Manager across all aspects of store operations. You will be instrumental in fostering a sales culture by creating personalized experiences for our guests and ensuring exceptional guest service through your enthusiasm for gaming. Your key responsibilities include ensuring visibility of products, driving sales by sharing your gaming knowledge, maintaining an organized and inviting shopping environment, and enhancing customer loyalty.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver exceptional guest service : greet guests promptly, address their questions and concerns courteously, assist them with their gaming needs, inform them of promotions, and appreciate every guest for their visit.
- Support the overall shopping environment, integrating visual and operational elements, promotional initiatives, and guest relations to boost sales and repeat business.
- Efficiently process guest transactions using the Point-of-Sale (POS) system, handle payments accurately, and ensure top-tier guest service throughout.
- Address guest queries in a professional manner, escalating issues to the Store Manager as necessary.
- Promote exclusive guest benefits such as reservation programs, trade-in options, and loyalty incentives.
- Assist the Store Manager in establishing service standards for associates, while also training them in all job functions and company policies.
- Monitor team performance, provide constructive feedback, and communicate any issues to the Store Manager.
- During each shift, ensure all associates complete their onboarding and training to align with service expectations and company policies.
- Work alongside the Store Manager to schedule staff while ensuring compliance with guidelines and optimizing guest service.
- Manage payroll processing, including time edits and verifying hours worked.
- Maintain store cleanliness and organization, ensuring all areas meet company standards.
- Guarantee daily fulfillment of Omni-Channel orders.
- Protect company assets through effective inventory and loss prevention practices.
- Assist the team in achieving sales and profit goals while managing administrative tasks.
- Conduct store inventory, manage stock levels on shelves, and ensure proper merchandising.
- Accurately balance daily transactions and ensure all paperwork for closing is correct.
- Report any discrepancies in shipments and maintain accurate records.
- Ensure safety and health standards are met and report any hazards immediately.
- Organize store records and manuals appropriately.
- Supervise and delegate tasks to team members in the absence of the Store Manager.
- Adhere to all GameStop policies and procedures at all times.
- Follow all opening and closing protocols consistently.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States.Minimum of 18 years of age required.High school diploma or equivalent is necessary; an associate's or bachelor's degree in business or related field is preferred.Previous retail management experience is highly valued (at least 6 months).A background in retail sales, guest service, or management (minimum of 2 years) is preferred.Passion and knowledge of video games are advantageous.KEY JOB SKILLS AND ABILITIES
