Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Underground Utility Equipment Operator to join our team in Mobile, AL, 36608. In this role, you will be responsible for operating various types of heavy machinery and equipment to install, maintain, and repair underground utilities. If you have a passion for working outdoors and enjoy hands-on tasks, this position is perfect for you!

Responsibilities

  • Operate heavy equipment such as backhoes, excavators, and trenchers for underground utility projects.
  • Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of water, sewer, and gas lines.
  • Conduct pre-operation inspections and perform routine maintenance on equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies while on the job site.
  • Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to complete projects on time.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
  • Participate in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge of equipment operation.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications are a plus.
  • Proven experience operating heavy machinery, preferably in underground utility work.
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols and best practices in construction environments.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to work in various weather conditions.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
