[job_card.job_description]Establish schedule and cost baselines in partnership with the Program Manager Status program schedules and performance monthly, ensuring accuracy and compliance Update program EACs and financial forecasts on a recurring basis Review and approve procurement requests, labor reports, and financial obligations Maintain and update program Risk Registers and implement mitigation plans when needed Provide actionable insights through EVM analysis, schedule reviews, and financial reporting Present program financials, schedule updates, and performance metrics during monthly leadership reviews Partner cross-functionally with engineering, finance, contracts, and program teams to drive program success Impact : Lead the financial and scheduling operations behind mission-critical government programs shaping global communications and national defense Visibility : Co-own program performance with Program Managers and present directly to senior leadership Growth : Join a high-caliber Program Control organization with strong mentorship, career development, and exposure to complex, evolving programs Innovation : Work within a cutting-edge technology environment where engineering and program excellence intersect Benefits : Competitive medical, dental, vision, 401(k), bonus eligibility, and additional perks Compensation is determined by several factors which may include skillset, qualifications / certifications, experience level, and geographic location The expected range for this role is $150-175K, annualized base compensation. Program Control Manager - Defense & Communications Technology - Carlsbad
Are you a strategic, solutions-oriented program finance leader who thrives in a fast-paced engineering and government contracting environment? Join this global, mission-driven technology company advancing how the world communicates. In this role, you'll co-own program financial performance alongside Program Managers, drive Earned Value Management (EVM) excellence, and lead the forecasting, scheduling, and risk management processes that directly impact high-visibility defense and aerospace programs. This is your opportunity to step into a hands-on leadership role within a collaborative, growth-oriented Program Control team where your insights and technical expertise shape program outcomes and customer success.
Who you are :
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or related field
- 7+ years of experience in Program Control, Program Finance, Cost / Schedule Analysis, or related discipline
- Strong command of Earned Value Management (EVM), Estimate at Complete (EAC), and financial / schedule performance metrics
- Proficient in MS Project and experienced supporting DoD or government contracting environments
- Confident communicator who can partner closely with Program Managers, engineering teams, and leadership
- Highly analytical with a detail-oriented, proactive approach to problem-solving
- Comfortable owning risk, schedule, and cost processes in a dynamic program environment
