About The Role

We are seeking individuals to join as Performance Engineer to support the performance optimization and contractual reporting for operational battery energy storage assets throughout the USA.

The Performance Engineer will conduct performance analysis and data interpretation to ensure contractual adherence for GWh of BESS assets; providing expertise to maximize asset performance while optimizing asset value. This position is responsible for ensuring improvement of systems tools and being a resource regarding emerging operational best practices with a critical thinking mindset and ability to investigate issues and perform data analysis to provide resolutions.

Core Responsibilities

• Own the operational performance engineering and reporting for esVoltas deployed BESS focusing on system performance improvement.
• Evaluate asset performance against contractual commitments during execution and operation phases and create baseline reports.
• Support the development of technical performance contract language for EPC agreements.
• Develop software to generate actionable insights from performance data using data mining and statistical analysis techniques
• Conduct computationally efficient exploratory data analysis anomaly detection and projection methodologies.
• Develop systems to automatically detect performance degradations and correlate them to specific causes and improvements.
• Create systems for automatic reporting of Energy Storage health and deploy interventions based on management by exception criteria.
• Collaborate with Operations Engineering to identify and resolve technical issues working closely with the Asset Management Team and equipment suppliers to address system deficiencies or malfunctions.

The actual salary and bonus offered will depend on the specific skills and experience of the selected candidate.

This position is classified as remote; however periodic travel to company offices project sites or other meeting locations may be required on an as-needed basis.
