Network Engineer

Job Description

NBCUniversal’s Network Engineering group within the Operations & Technology organization has an opening for a Network Engineer based at NBC’s core production locations in Universal City or Denver locations.

The engineer will work within a dedicated team of network and firewall engineers tasked with building reliable and scalable network infrastructure for NBCUniversal’s broadcast and media production facilities. The selected candidate will have experience in the configuration, deployment, and support of Cisco, Arista, and Palo Alto firewalls using vendor and internal automation and monitoring systems.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' experience configuring, deploying, and supporting network technology from multiple vendors including Cisco (IOS, NX-OS, XR), Arista, Palo Alto, and F5.
• Experience with AWS and Azure network configurations (Direct Connect, Express Route).
• Hands-on experience implementing firewall policy on Palo Alto (Panorama).
• Participate in operational on-call rotation for support of 24x7 production on-air network infrastructure.
• Ability to develop and maintain technical documentation and diagrams.
• Occasional travel for project and remote event support.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Good understanding of both Enterprise and Service Provider networking:OSPF, IS-IS, vPC, port-channeling, 10/40/100G optics, IPSEC, QoS, VLAN, MulticastMP-BGP, route-reflection, MPLS (IP and Segment Routing), Traffic Engineering, L3VPN, VRF
• Ability to analyze network logging and other data sets to troubleshoot and isolate production and design problems.
• Experience with network automation and version control tools such as Ansible and Git to deploy networks at scale.

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, which currently requires contributing from the office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time.

Salary range: $80,000 - $110,000
