About the Facility - Augusta VAMC

The VA Augusta Healthcare System is one of the leading health care systems serving Veterans in the VA Southeast Network. RESPONSIBILITIES (listed are included but not limited to)

• Clinical practice, supervising and teaching Nephrology fellows, residents, and medical students.
• Responsible for providing consultation on various forms of nephrology disease states, both for diagnosis and treatment in the inpatients and outpatient settings.
• Share attending call responsibilities with other Nephrologists in covering some nights, weekends, and holiday calls as needed. The physician will round with the team of fellow(s), resident(s), and medical student(s) as regards inpatient settings.
• The Nephrology Physician (MD / DO) is administratively responsible to the Chief of Medicine. Clinical oversight is provided by the collaborating physician, Section Chief, Nephrology. The physician, as a member of the department, communicates with other healthcare providers to manage consults and additional services as required.
• Clinical activities may include but are not limited to :

clinical assessment and evaluation - Inpatients and Outpatients.
