This role involves providing essential respiratory care to patients as per physician orders and departmental policies. You will work independently in various acute and critical care settings, collaborate with physicians and other healthcare personnel, and make informed recommendations regarding patient treatment. Candidates must be capable of treating patients of all ages, ranging from infants to the elderly.

Eligible full-time positions come with competitive sign-on bonuses : $7,500 for Direct Care Respiratory Therapists with one year of experience ($5,000 for those with less than one year), along with the opportunity for $1,800 in annual student loan repayment. Key Responsibilities

Independently perform respiratory therapy procedures in alignment with physician orders and established protocols. - 20%

Conduct blood gas analyses and effectively report results. - 10%

Initiate, monitor, and manage patients requiring various forms of mechanical ventilation. - 20%

Manage airways and associated equipment proficiently. - 10%

Document and charge for all respiratory procedures accurately while educating patients and their families as necessary. - 10%

Engage with healthcare team members effectively, including providing comprehensive reports and recommendations. - 10%

Maintain infection control standards, performing necessary cleaning and sterilization between patients. - 10%

Use resources responsibly, optimizing supplies and productivity.

Management Responsibilities

This position does not involve management duties and will report to a supervisor or manager.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must be graduates of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program or eligible for licensure in South Carolina, or be senior students graduating in the next three months.

Required Certifications / Registrations / Licenses

Must be licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in South Carolina or be eligible for such licensure. BLS certification is required, and NBRC credentials must be maintained. Employees hired before June 2016 may hold a Certified Respiratory Therapist designation. From June 2016 onwards, candidates must achieve a passing score on the Therapist Multiple Choice Exam and the Clinical Simulation Exam within six months of graduation. Failure to pass the clinical simulation exam during this period will lead to termination.

NRP and PALS certifications are required before independently working in NICU and PICU.

Essential Skills and Experience

Team collaboration, strong communication, organizational, and computer skills are crucial for this role.
