JOB SUMMARY :

This is a 2026 summer internship in our Legacy Business Unit department. The intern will focus on the standardization of the tooling room through the implementation of the 5S methodology. The objective is to create a highly organized, efficient, and safe workspace by ensuring that only necessary items are present, every tool and material has a designated place, and cleanliness is maintained consistently. The intern will lead efforts to identify and remove obsolete tools, develop visual indicators for work-in-process items, and promote daily adherence to 5S standards among all users of the area.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS) :

• Demonstrate an understanding of lean manufacturing
• Achieve full 5S compliance in the tooling room, resulting in improved organization, reduced waste, and enhanced productivity.
• Establish clear visual management systems for tools and materials.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability among team members using the tooling room.
• Document and propose processes and outcomes to support future standardization initiatives.

COMPENSATION :

The compensation for this position is $20.00 per hour. This position is eligible for overtime.
