Description

The Patient Access / Emergency Room Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Patient Access department within the Emergency Room. This role ensures efficient patient registration, accurate insurance verification, and compliance with hospital policies while delivering exceptional customer service. The Manager will lead a team, manage schedules, and collaborate with HR on employee relations matters.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

Supervise and mentor Patient Access staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.

Manage team schedules, time-off requests, and staffing to ensure adequate coverage.

Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching for professional development.

Operational Oversight

Ensure accurate and timely patient registration and insurance verification.

Monitor workflows and implement process improvements for efficiency and compliance.

Maintain adherence to hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and quality standards.

HR & Employee Relations Support

Partner with HR on employee relations issues, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.

Assist in recruitment, onboarding, and training of new team members.

Collaboration & Communication

Work closely with Emergency Room leadership and other hospital departments to ensure seamless patient access operations.

Prepare and present reports on department performance and key metrics.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mission Viejo, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $52.00 - $60.00 / hr.
