In this position...

We are seeking an experienced Audit Director to lead our global team of 25 dealer (franchise) auditors located in Dearborn Michigan and around the world.

In this role you will develop a strategy for auditing dealers leveraging the latest technology develop a risk-based audit plan manage dealer marketing incentive compliance audits act as a trusted advisor to senior management and drive ongoing improvement in the efficiency and effectiveness of controls.

Responsibilities

What youll do...

Develop a strategy and operating model(s) for auditing dealership activities (compliance with the franchise agreement) leveraging data analytics automation professional standards and audit technology to continuously improve audit efficiency effectiveness and coverage.

Conduct comprehensive assessment leading to an annual risk-based dealer audit plan. Deliver the annual audit plan with rigorous review of audit working papers findings and recommendations for accuracy. Deliver high-quality audit reports to dealers.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including dealers Marketing management and other functions. Act as a trusted advisor offering proactive insights and guidance on risk management and controls.

Use relevant data to drive insightful communication with various internal stakeholders including Marketing leadership regional management and the Audit Committee leading to improvements in the control environment.

Manage and develop a team of dealer auditors fostering a culture of collaboration accountability and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Youll have...

Bachelors degree in Business (Accounting Finance Marketing).

10 years of experience in internal audit external audit risk management or marketing incentives within a large multinational organization.

Background in automotive dealership / franchise or marketing incentive compliance preferred.

Proven ability to lead teams and deliver operating objectives working with cross-functional teams and influencing stakeholders.

Superior analytical problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.

Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

Understanding of internal control frameworks and professional auditing standards or a commitment to learn.

CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) or CPA is preferred.
