Qualifications, Duties, and Perks
As a Sweet Dreams CNA You Will :
(includes but not limited to)
Spend quality one on one time with patients and their families to support everyday needsCare for hospice patients by providing paths, back rubs, oral hygiene, shampoos, and changing bed linen as often as neededProvide bedtime care including personal hygiene regimens as requiredProvide aroma therapy and gentle touchProvide lotion rubs to hands and feetPerform personal care needs after given a patient's assignment and attending to his / her requests promptly. If unable to perform a certain task, report to the Case Manager immediately.Provide patient and family with positive communication techniques, within realm of ethical and respectful care, including confidentiality.Help patients dress and undressRecord important health information including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressureAssess and report patient condition and any significant changes to the Case ManagerAssist patients with ambulation and exerciseRespect patient and family / caregiver environment and patient's personal needsAnd additional duties as assignedProvide respite for patient's family / caregiver when on-site, as appropriateMaintain patient's living area is clean and orderly, as assignedAdhere to the organization's documentation and care procedures and standards of personal and professional conductParticipate in quality assessment performance improvement teams and activitiesRespect patient and family / caregiver environment and patient's personal needsAll other duties as assignedRequirements :
Certification of Nursing Assistantrequired per state regulationsPreferred to have one (1) year experience as Aide in community health / hospice or medical / surgical experienceMust have completed a minimum of 75 hours of classroom and supervised practical trainingLicensed driver with automobile that is insured in accordance with organization / state requirements and is in good working orderWillingness to submit to a criminal background check prior to hire and annually thereafterCurrent CPR certificationOur Ideal Candidate Has the Following Skills and Knowledge :
Ability to read and follow written instructionsAn Understanding of hospice philosophy and comfortable providing specialized care to the terminally illAbility to work autonomously with little direct supervisionSuccessfully demonstrate tact, patience and good personal hygieneAbility to communicate effectivelyStrong organizational skillsUnderstanding of plan of care documentationFlexible in work hours to ensure the patients receive care as provided in the plan of careAbility to empathize with the needs of the ill, injured, frail and impairedComfortable addressing issues of death / dyingCalm demeanor when entering the patients homeWe Got the Perks :
