About the Role :

Join Brightstar Care of Lakeland and Winter Haven as an Occupational Therapist, where you will provide compassionate and personalized therapy services in the comfort of patients' homes. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact on the lives of individuals recovering from injury or illness.

Occupational Therapist duties and responsibilities :

An Occupational Therapist must excel at a variety of duties and responsibilities, such as :

  • Assessing the patient’s physical, communication and cognitive skills to develop a treatment plan
  • Giving advice and providing support for family members and Carers
  • Assessing the home, school and work environments of the patient
  • Installing the necessary equipment in the classroom for children with disabilities and teaching them how to use the equipment
  • Helping children and adult patients to take part in everyday activities based on their unique circumstances
  • Assisting patients’ exercise for pain relief
  • Reviewing the patient’s progress and adapting the treatment accordingly
  • Performing administrative tasks such as keeping records, writing reports and making telephone calls

    • Requirements :

  • Licensed Occupational Therapist in the state of Florida.
  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Previous experience in home health care or outpatient settings preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build rapport with patients.
  • Compassionate demeanor with a commitment to patient-centered care.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Current CPR certification and knowledge of safety protocols.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for home visits.
