Wyckoff Heights Medical Center are looking for a Certified Nurse Midwife to join the Department of OB / GYN. The NP will work on a team with other medical professionals at their designated locations. The ideal candidate will :
- Provides and manages health care of women and newborns as specifically outlined in the Midwifery Practice Protocols of the Dept. of Obstetrics & Gynecology at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center.
- Establishes a complete database through history taking, physical examination and appropriate laboratory data.
- Assesses the status of the patient, develops and implements a plan of care with the patient during the prenatal, intrapartum, postpartum, neonatal, intra conceptional and gynecological periods.
- Seeks medical consultation in patients with deviations from standards and guidelines for midwifery management.
- Performs ongoing review of care including evaluation and documentation in the medical record.
- Participates in departmental, institutional and other professional committee related to midwifery practice.
- Participates in the Midwifery, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and hospital-wide Quality Assurance programs.
- Interprets and recommends revisions in policies affecting Midwifery practice and participates in program evaluation.
- When needed, serves as a consult to other members of the health team and participates in interdisciplinary program planning.
- Participates in the compilation of statistical data relevant to midwifery practice.
Requirements / Qualifications :
This position requires a minimum formal education of Master's Degree and a minimum of one-year job-related experience.Desired (not required) criteria include Bilingual (Spanish).Registered Nurse, NYS Dept Ed Midwifery, American College of Nurse Midwives.BLS CertificateFull - Time (Regular 35hrs) Union : NYSNA
