We are looking for a skilled Benefits and Payroll Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in South Gate, California. This role will focus on managing payroll operations, ensuring compliance with labor laws, and supporting employee benefits administration. The ideal candidate will bring bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English, along with a strong understanding of HR practices and attention to detail.

Responsibilities :

• Manage and process payroll operations accurately and on schedule, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollment, updates, and addressing employee inquiries.
• Collaborate with HR and finance teams to maintain payroll records and ensure accurate reporting.
• Handle employee relations matters, providing guidance and resolving concerns in alignment with company policies.
• Conduct audits of payroll and benefits processes to identify and address discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, and update policies as needed.
• Provide support for employee development initiatives, including training and performance evaluations.
• Assist in recruitment activities, such as posting job openings and screening candidates.
• Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism.
• Contribute to fostering a positive and productive workplace culture.
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll administration, benefits management, or HR roles.
• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is highly preferred.
• Solid understanding of HR laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively across all levels of the organization.
• Experience with payroll systems such as Paycom and other HR software is a plus.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
• HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP or PHR) is considered an advantage.
