Event Coordinator

The University of Miami's School of Communication will offer a Coral Gables-campus based study abroad course to students enrolled from the University of Navarra scheduled from May 18 to May 31, 2025, the intensive, experiential course includes workshops, labs, guest speakers, field trips, screenings, and group projects as well as traditional lectures.

The Event Coordinator will be responsible for assisting the Faculty Coordinators in coordinating all workshop activities, overseeing all details, and ensuring effective communication among all participants.

Pre-Session Logistics

• Help set up daily schedule conceptual as well as logistics
• Help identify guest speakers and field trips, email invitation letters (new letters and revise letters from last year), and confirm with speakers in advance and just prior to session
• Schedule classroom, same as last year
• Set up planning meetings with faculty
• Coordinate welcome dinner, liaise with business office - Claudette Morgan. Has been at Monty's.
• Coordinate welcome reception at Lakeside, sandwiches, etc. Claudette will probably help with reservation of space.
• Other pre-course tasks as needed.
• Disseminate readings and material to the students mid March.
• Assist with preparation of syllabus and course materials
