Job Description: The network engineer responsibilities include performing diverse, specialized, and complex work involving significant accountability and decision-making responsibility. The incumbent manages day-to-day network systems security programs, resolves complex security problems and breaches, and handles complex network security projects and functions to meet current and future requirements. Successful performance of the work requires an extensive professional background and skill in coordinating work with other District units, divisions, departments, and external agencies.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement private IP addressing for VNets.
- Design and implement cross-VNet connectivity.
- Design, implement, and manage VNet routing.
- Design and implement an Azure Load Balancer.
- Design and implement Azure Application Gateway.
- Design and implement Azure Front Door.
- Design and implement Azure Traffic Manager profile.
- Design and implement Azure Virtual Network NAT.
- Design, implement, and manage Azure Firewall deployment.
- Implement and manage network security groups (NSGs).
- Implement a Web Application Firewall (WAF) deployment.
- Monitor networks using Network Performance Monitor and Network Watcher.
- Design and implement Azure Private Link service and Azure Private Endpoint.
- Maintain excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Maintain excellent documentation skills.
- Provide great customer handling skills.
- Handle unforeseen situations effectively.
- Work effectively as part of a team.
- Train and guide junior engineers.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Administration, System Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- 4 to 5 years of experience in networking.
- Ability to work with end users and executive-level representatives.
- Experience working in Windows and Linux/Unix environments.
Work Experience Requirements:
- Minimum 6+ years of professional experience as an Azure Network Engineer.
- Experience with programming in C#, Golang, C++, Python, and systems programming on Linux/Unix/Windows.
