Machine Operator Job Description
Position Summary :
A Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, monitoring, and maintaining machinery in a manufacturing or production environment. The role ensures equipment runs smoothly, efficiently, and safely while meeting production quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Set up machines (calibration, cleaning, tooling changes) before the start of production.
Operate machinery according to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines.
Monitor machine performance, identify issues, and make basic adjustments to optimize output.
Inspect finished products for quality, verifying measurements and conformity to specifications.
Perform routine maintenance such as lubrication, cleaning, and part replacement.
Keep accurate logs of production output, machine downtime, and maintenance activities.
Work closely with supervisors and quality control teams to ensure production goals are met.
Troubleshoot minor mechanical problems and escalate major issues to maintenance technicians.
Follow all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Skills & Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience in manufacturing, production, or machine operation (preferred).
Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, or schematics (a plus).
Good mechanical aptitude and strong attention to detail.
Basic math and measurement skills.
Physical ability to lift, stand, or move for extended periods.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in a team environment.
Willingness to work shifts, overtime, or weekends as required.
Work Environment
Fast-paced production or manufacturing setting.
Exposure to noise, machinery, and varying temperatures.
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE), such as gloves, eyewear, and hearing protection.
