Job Description Summary
The Okuma Service Apprentice Program is an exciting opportunity for individuals who have the desire to gain skills and knowledge needed to move into a Field Service role. Participants will gain technical knowledge and practical application skills in both electrical and mechanical maintenance. This will be achieved through attending courses and participating in defined hands-on experience within various departments within Okuma America Corporation. Throughout the program, participants will have their knowledge tested through handwritten and practical application testing to ensure all subject areas meet defined program standards. Successful completion of the program will result in individuals graduating with 480 hours of classroom training, provided by Okuma America Corporation, and a job role title of Field Service Technician I.

Upon completion of program :

Associates Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Machine Tool Technology, or Trade Schooling (or equivalent)Solid foundation in machining and process determinationUnderstanding of tooling specifics, cutting practices, raw material familiarity, and Statistical Process Control (SPC)Exposure to Okuma or common competitor types of equipment preferredWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of productsKnowledge / Skills / Abilities
