The candidate will have opportunities to gain experience in the retail automotive industry and tax laws applying to domestic, foreign, and cross-border transactions. The candidate will join an experienced tax team who will help the candidate develop his / her tax career. Our tax department plays a vital role in ensuring compliance with tax laws and optimizing tax strategies to support our company's growth.

As a Tax Intern at Group 1 Automotive, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and exposure to various aspects of corporate tax. We are looking for someone who is detail oriented, self-motivated with the willingness to learn a variety of tax technical areas. The candidate should have excellent problem-solving skills, strong teamwork skills, strong work ethics, high professionalism, and effective oral and written communication skills.

Key responsibilities include :

• Draft memorandums to document tax positions
• Assist in the preparation of Federal Income Tax Returns
• Research certain federal and state tax matters.
• Assist with Fixed Asset processes.
• Assist with various Property Tax functions.
