    • About the Role

    The Company is seeking a Vice President for Government and Community Relations to play a pivotal role in advancing its public policy priorities. The successful candidate will be responsible for collaborating with university leaders to develop and promote these priorities, as well as for cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with policymakers at all levels of government. This role involves leading a team of professionals in the identification and pursuit of government funding, educating key stakeholders, and advocating for policies that align with the company's mission and the broader interests of higher education. The VP will also be tasked with managing external resources and working in partnership with various organizations and associations to further the company's goals.

    Applicants for the Vice President position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree and at least 15 years' experience in government relations, with a proven track record of success in a similar role. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the inner workings of government at the federal, state, and local levels, as well as experience in a high-profile public or political environment. Strong leadership, strategic planning, and policy analysis skills are essential, as is the ability to manage a team and work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative setting. The role requires a candidate with a high degree of discretion, ethical standards, and a commitment to compliance with lobbying laws and regulations. Experience in a large, complex, mission-driven organization and a background in higher education or a similar research institution are also necessary.
