BASIC FUNCTION :

The Avid Assistant will provide assistance to the instructional program in student discussion groups and tutorial sessions as part of the Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) program.

VACANCY / POSITION SPECIFICS :

  • Working Location : Site / Dept Name . 4880 La Cuenta Dr. San Diego CA 92124 (Area D)
  • The District covers a large portion of San Diego County. Refer to theDistrict Area Map at this Link and make sure to identify any and all specific area(s) you are interested in working in.   • School / Department Website : Farb Middle School
  • Work Schedule : 10months per year / 12hours per week.
  • Salary : This position is paid on the PARA Salary Schedule. Grade 20. To view the Salary Schedule click here.
  • Positions 20 hours per week or greater qualify for District-paid health and wellness benefits for the employee and their eligible dependents.
  • Vacancies thatrequirethe incumbent to be Bilingual in English / Spanish will be considered for positions that require bilingual skills will be invited to a Performance Test (Qualifying Only) for oral and written fluency. Bilingual positions qualify for a 5% bilingual differential.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

Education and Experience :

High school diploma / GED and a passing score on the San Diego City Schools classroom Assistant Proficiency Exam (CAPE) or an Associates Degree (or higher) or 48 or more eligible units of coursework at a recognized college or university.

NOTE : Your related education and experience must be clearly represented in the work history and education section of your application.

  • Examination Process

    The examination process includes an application screening and evaluation based on the applicants education work history and responses to theapplication questions. Onlyapplicantswhose application packet demonstrates a combined education and experience which meets the minimum requirements for the position will be considered qualified andadvance in the process. Somepositions requireapplicants to pass additional components which may include one or more of the following : amultiple-choice oral written or performance exam specific to the position.
