Hours Per Week : 36 hours / week

Hiring range : $ 24.52 - $31.88 The actual compensation for this position will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.

Responsibilities :

• Prepares surgical operating suite with sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies.
• Hands required and requested instruments and supplies to surgeon during surgery.
• Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
• Maintains instruments in an organized manner and monitors and tracks instruments counts throughout procedures.
• Assists surgeons’ provision of hemostasis during surgery.

Complexity of Work :

• Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment.

Personal Protective Equipment :

• Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Education :

• High school diploma / GED required
• Must be able to speak, read, write and follow instructions in English.

Licensure / Certification / Registration :

Required Credential(s) :

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
• Licensed Practical / Vocational Nurse credentialed from the New York Board of Nursing.
