About the Team

STR's Analytics Division develops novel solutions to the most challenging national security problems through advanced analytics and software. Our teams consist of motivated individuals with degrees in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, and data science. We have experienced managers who have led large, complex teams in delivering solutions to some of the Defense Department's greatest challenges and have extensive knowledge of the various combat domains. The Mission Applications (MA) Group in the Analytics Division develops and deploys software-intensive mission capabilities to defense and intelligence customers, leveraging technologies from STR research and development (R&D) groups, while matrixing in significant numbers of engineering staff from those groups. Staff organic to the Mission Applications Group will have skills specifically targeting transition of technology to operational use, including program management, integration engineering at customer sites, and DevSecOps.

The Role :

As a Lead DevOps Engineer, you will work as part of tightly knit Agile software teams to design and implement Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI / CD) pipelines utilizing GitLab or other CI / CD systems. This includes :

• Supporting Amazon Web Services (AWS) toolsets in an unclassified environment;
• Maintaining multiple CI / CD environments at multiple classification levels where AWS is not available;
• Configuring CI / CD environments for application performance, security monitoring, and alerting;
• Acting as a point person with the corporate IT organization to ensure that infrastructure toolsets are configured, maintained, reliable, and in compliance with Department of Defense standards; and
• Advocating for and educating engineers on DevOps fundamentals while helping to implement solid software development processes.

This role will take advantage of STR's flexible, hybrid environment – when the work does not require use of STR's facilities, you are welcome to work remotely.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range : $184,000 - $254,000

The salary range listed is based on external market data. Offers are based on factors, such as but not limited to, the candidate's experience, education, training, key skills / critical skills, security clearances, and prevailing market and business conditions.
