Job Summary

This position is essential for providing respiratory therapy to patients based on physician orders and departmental policies. You will work independently in various acute and critical care settings, collaborating with a skilled team to ensure the best patient outcomes across all age groups.

We are offering competitive sign-on bonuses starting at $7,500 for experienced Direct Care Respiratory Therapists and $5,000 for those with less than one year of experience. Key Responsibilities

  • Independently perform respiratory therapy procedures in acute and critical care settings per physician's orders and departmental protocols. - 20%
  • Obtain, analyze, and report blood gas results with accuracy. - 10%
  • Initiate, monitor, and manage patients on invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation. - 20%
  • Manage airways and associated equipment proficiently. - 10%
  • Document and charge for all procedures accurately, providing education to patients and families as needed. - 10%
  • Communicate effectively with all healthcare team members, including students and nurses, ensuring clear and comprehensive reporting. - 10%
  • Maintain rigorous infection control standards and conduct proper cleaning / disinfection of equipment. - 10%
  • Utilize resources efficiently, demonstrating stewardship in supply and productivity management.

    • Position Details

    This role is non-management with reporting to a supervisor or manager.

    Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program approved by the American Medical Association or eligibility for licensure in South Carolina.

    • Licensure and Certifications

  • Must be licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in South Carolina or a senior graduating in the next 3 months. BLS certification required; maintain NBRC credentials.

    • For those hired after June 2016, passing the Therapist Multiple Choice Exam and the Clinical Simulation Exam within six months of graduation is essential for maintaining employment.
