We're seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our team in El Cajon, California. This temporary role is critical as we transition from Paycom to UKG, and you'll play a key part in ensuring accuracy and compliance during this process. The position offers hands-on experience with system migration and collaboration with a seasoned payroll professional, making it an excellent learning opportunity with potential for long-term placement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with payroll testing and validation during the transition from Paycom to UKG.
• Review and reconcile large volumes of payroll data.
• Help run parallel payrolls in Paycom and UKG post go-live to confirm system accuracy.
• Process bi-weekly payroll for hourly, non-exempt, and salaried employees, including timecard approvals, mileage payouts, and pay adjustments.
• Manage direct deposit setups and monitor overtime calculations for compliance.
• Post payroll-related journal entries and maintain proper accounting procedures.
• Collaborate with HR to keep payroll systems aligned with employee records.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal payroll regulations, including tax filings and reporting.
• Provide support for payroll audits and assist with system upgrades or transitions.

Requirements:

• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage high-volume data reconciliation.
• Experience with payroll systems (Paycom, UKG preferred) and knowledge of payroll compliance.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment and meet critical deadlines.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
