Tri-City Christian is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Early Childhood Outdoor Teacher with crucial responsibilities for opening, break coverage, and in-house substitution.

The Role: The Heart of Our Day
This multi-faceted position is essential to the smooth operation and success of our nature-based Christian early childhood program. Your responsibilities will fall into three main areas:
Outdoor Environment Setup & Teaching (Opener):
- School Opening: Be the first to arrive, ensuring the school is safely and welcomingly opened for the day.
- Outdoor Classroom Creation: Prepare and set up the outdoor environment with developmentally appropriate activities that are rich, engaging, and aligned with our curriculum philosophy.
- Maintenance & Reinforcement: Maintain, reinforce, and expand key outdoor learning elements, including the mud kitchen, garden beds, and various nature exploration zones.
- Early Morning Engagement: Interact with children in the outdoor setting, facilitating play and exploration during the crucial opening hours.
Staff Support & Coverage (Breaker):
- Scheduled Break Relief: Provide 10-minute breaks and uninterrupted lunch coverage for classroom teachers throughout the morning and midday.
- Maintain Classroom Flow: Step into the classroom or outdoor space seamlessly, ensuring continuity of care and instruction during staff breaks.
Flexible Support (In-House Substitute):
- Coverage: Serve as an in-house substitute teacher, stepping into any classroom as needed to cover unexpected staff absences.
- Team Support: Assist the leadership team with general duties, preparation, and student support as required.
What We're Looking For:
- A strong Christian faith and love of the Lord, actively integrated into daily life a work.
- Completion of required Early Childhood Education (ECE) or Child Development coursework.
- Prior experience working with young children in a professional setting.
- A genuine passion for nature, outdoor education, and hands-on, play-based learning.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic—you are the key to starting our day!
- The ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and transition smoothly between tasks (outdoor setup,break coverage, substituting).
- Knowledge of Early Childhood Development and the ability to create and facilitate enriching activities.
