Cost Accounting Director

ABOUT THE COMPANY

Our client is a leading US based manufacturer with excellent benefits. This client has a new permanent opportunity for a Cost Accounting Director. Company is very profitable, strongly growing year over year.

The Cost Accounting Director will provide guidance to leadership and be responsible for all cost-related functions such as cost variance analysis, labor, overhead and inventory analysis, reporting, and budgeting. This is a high profile, high visibility role that directly supports the CFO and the Controller.

Responsibilities of the Cost Accounting Director :

  • Lead and be the subject matter expert for the Cost Accounting / Analysis function
  • Assist with close, forecasting, budget and other cost / investment activities
  • Provide Financial / Cost / KPI analysis to senior leadership for strategic decisions
  • Sales and margin trends / forecasts
  • Analysis by Customer and Product line
  • Budgeting, materials, labor, and overhead analysis
  • Inventory valuation analysis
  • Support various groups with initiatives in cost reductions, margin enhancements and working capital improvements
  • Assist with process and controls improvements

Experience for the Cost Accounting Director :

  • Bachelors in accounting, finance, business, CPA preferred
  • Strong Cost Accounting / Analysis experience
  • Advanced excel
  • Previous experience with Tableau
  • Strong business experience and ability to think strategically
  • Excellent presentation skills, ability to explain financial results / impacts to all levels
  • Strong ERP systems experience
