A large industrial employer is adding an Electrical Technical Instructor to its internal training team. This role is perfect for an experienced electrician who wants to step off the road, keep working hands-on, and focus on training the next generation.
This is an onsite, full-time position based at a training center in Omaha, NE or Sioux Center, IA (no remote option).
What you'll do
- Deliver classroom and lab-based training on electrical fundamentals, safety, and industrial systems
- Lead hands-on demonstrations using tools, panels, and equipment that mirror real jobsite conditions
- Coach apprentices and experienced electricians, assess their skills, and provide structured feedback
- Help refine lesson plans and training materials as standards, technology, and field practices evolve
- Partner with field leaders and HR to support workforce development across the organization
Work setup
- Onsite role based in Omaha, NE or Sioux Center, IA
- Standard full-time schedule with consistent hours and very limited overnight travel
- Occasional short trips (up to roughly 20–30%) for training events, site visits, or onboarding support
Ideal background
- 5+ years as an electrician in industrial, commercial, or construction environments
- Journeyman or Master Electrician credential preferred
- Strong safety mindset and ability to model best practices for new and experienced electricians
- Comfortable speaking in front of groups and explaining technical topics in simple, practical terms
- Prior teaching, mentoring, or apprenticeship support experience is a plus, but not required
Compensation & benefits
- Target salary typically in the mid-$60,000s to upper-$80,000s, depending on experience and location
