ABOUT THE ROLE

Medium Giant is seeking experienced media Account Executives based in North Texas to successfully market The Dallas Morning News, DallasNews.com and agency and marketing services. Account Executives will prospect at all levels of business (local and national), with the primary focus to grow revenue within The Dallas Morning News print and digital portfolio, while having access to collaborate and sell marketing services (paid media, etc) based on client needs. You will use a consultative approach and a client-first mindset to help determine best recommendations to grow and meet their business needs. You know you are a fit if you possess the ability to identify ideal customer profiles, and will do the work to get the meeting for new partnership exploration. You are a listener, and you take the time to understand and help prioritize clients’ business needs, spoken and unspoken. You enjoy connecting the dots of clients’ goals to our digital and strategic marketing capabilities. You are also just as excited to maximize existing client partnerships into new and expanded solutions or services. Competitive base and uncapped commission pay.

Responsibilities

Approximately 70% focus to develop net new clients, 30% to grow existing clients into new digital, strategic or marketing partnerships.

You are comfortable articulating digital marketing, paid media and / or marketing solutions to all levels of decision makers : Pres, CEO, CMO, marketing teams, including ad agencies.

You hold yourself accountable, are coachable and intentionally show up with ethics and values in tow, including integrity, sense of purpose, customer first, innovation and teamwork.

You collaborate with your colleagues, enjoy participating in a variety of sales initiatives, and can be a team player across all teams (ad ops, subject matter experts, etc). You inherently believe we win as a team.

You will identify and make new contacts (email, phone, networking or in person) to introduce Medium Giant’s digital strategy capabilities, paid media and marketing services, including our owned and operated quality audience on Dallasnews.com.

You will report your opportunity and revenue pipeline with accurate forecasting to management, and work with your sales leader to ensure revenue targets are achieved.

You are comfortable working in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Drive, including Sheets, Slides and Docs.

You enjoy interacting with teammates, and are willing to hang out in the office 2-3 days / week to collaborate, have camaraderie and positively participate in spontaneous team building.

Job Requirements

A bachelor’s degree is a plus, but it is not required.

3+ years sales experience, media sales preferred

Proven track record getting new business meetings required

Proven sales performance, including goal achievement

Paid Media (programmatic, SEO / SEM) experience is a plus, but not required

Ability to get in front of decision makers and get past gatekeepers

Effective communication of ambiguous concepts and ideation, verbal and written

Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to details

Ability to work independently on multiple tasks

Ability to demonstrate critical and innovative thinking skills

Ability to think proact ively and take initiative

Ability to work under time constraints as necessary

Ability to apply concepts such as percentages and proportions

Ability to interpret unspoken signals and body language, you can read a room
