The position of Mental Health Outreach Specialist will pay style="font-family:'Times New Roman', Times, serif;"> Must have Covid-19 Vaccine and Booster.

Position Description:

This role also provides after care services to clients who have ended treatment with Children’s Bureau.

This role may also assist in the provision of general administrative support including receptionist and secretarial responsibilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works within a team-oriented approach to meet the needs of the client, families, community and the stakeholders and to ensure excellence in overall service delivery in office, home, schools and community.
  • Disseminate information about Children’s Bureau’s mental health services.
  • Must develop a good understanding of each service (MHS, MEDS, Day Treatment, Case
  • Management, etc.), the various treatment modalities and Evidence Based Practices (EBPs) funding stream Be able to speak of services with potential clients and community partners.
  • May complete/document requests for service.
  • Create reports to measure effect of marketing efforts.
  • Develop marketing materials.
  • May enter potential client information and therefore may need to have an understanding of Medi-Cal/Short Doyle manual.
  • Remains compliant to HIPAA and other applicable state laws governing confidentiality.
  • Ensures that all notes are filed in a timely manner when requested to do so.
  • Conducts the initial data gathering for any/all referrals.
  • May assist with the financial aspects of initial intake.
  • May assist with the implementation of patient receipt systems, patient financial information and UMDAP system for the office.
  • Works with the Therapist Assistant to verify Medi-Cal eligibility at intake and notifies supervisors, MIS Administrator, and therapists of any irregularities if necessary.
  • Collaborates with Program Supervisor on caseloads and workflow and ensures that directives and policies and procedures associated with access to services are implemented in a timely manner.
  • Provides aftercare services to all client that have been discharged three months post treatment and document note in Exym.
  • May provide administrative and clerical support to include receptionist duties, and maintenance of outreach calendar of events and room schedule for office use.
  • Maintains confidentiality in matters of agency operations, personnel, and clients.
  • Maintains positive communications with all agency staff, clients and visitors.
  • Exercise good judgment in performance of duties and responsibilities.
  • Supports existing agency policies, principles and mission.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
  • As a mandated reporter, must follow child abuse reporting guidelines and report all suspicions of child abuse and/or neglect.
