Looking for Mental Health Therapy Aides for our Children / Adolescent Psychiatry Unit. Peds experience is preferred and psych experience is required. Will be required to work every other weekend and some holidays.

Qualifications : Current Certification in CPR. Minimum of 1 year of experience required. Prior experience in an inpatient setting preferred. Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrates effective interpersonal communication skills with patients, family members, and other members of the healthcare team.

The Mental Health Therapy Aide (MHTA) fulfills objectives within the mission of the Golisano Center for Special Needs for the inpatient units. Duties include : Engage in daily meetings with behavior team to discuss treatment plans, participate in the implementation of treatment plans, involvement in assistance with daily living tasks while ensuring patient's privacy and dignity are respected, data management, participation in implementation of behavioral treatment procedures, use time efficiently and productively in the absence of specific assigned responsibilities, accept responsibilities and conduct oneself in a professional manner, identify problems and suggest strategies for resolving issues, interact with colleagues in a positive manner appropriate to audience and format. Ability to physically manage patients.
