Part-time, non-tenure track, for placement in Spring, Summer and/or Fall lecturer pool, assignments as needed, contingent on availability of funds and actual staffing requirements for East Hawaii (Hilo), West Hawaii (Kailua-Kona), and/or North Hawaii (Honokaa) campuses. Must be able to attend meetings and trainings on short notice as well as teach courses in person, as necessary.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Under general supervision, conduct lectures and, as appropriate, laboratory courses in the discipline.
• May include instructional assignments involving distance education.
• Maintain at least one office hour per week for each class taught.
• Possible evening, weekend and off-campus assignments.
• Conduct student evaluations of teaching effectiveness.
• Participate in assessment of course learning outcomes.
• Adhere to all due dates, including the online submission of grades.

Minimum Qualifications:

• (a) Master’s degree in Music OR

(b) Bachelor’s degree in Music and 3 years of related work experience OR

(c) Master recognition by Music Community and 10 years of related work experience

• If qualified applicants are not available, those not meeting the minimum qualifications may be considered on an exception basis.

Desirable Qualifications:

• Teaching experience at a community college level.
• Demonstrated ability to work with adult learners and communicate clearly.
• Familiarity with competency-based instruction and behavioral objectives.
• Demonstrated commitment to and/or supporting the success of students.
