Technical Program Manager III, Data Center Design
Google is looking for a Technical Program Manager III for Data Center Design. This position is available in Council Bluffs, IA, USA; Kansas City, MO, USA; and Pryor Creek, OK 74361, USA. The minimum qualifications include a bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience, five years of experience in program management, and experience managing multi-group, multi-disciplinary construction projects and designs. Preferred qualifications include a master's degree or PhD in Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related technical fields, professional engineer, registered engineer or chartered engineer license or equivalent technical professional license or certification, five years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects, experience managing data center design and product development, experience managing vendor relationships and design-to-construction workflows, including procurement strategy, work package development, and cross-functional coordination, and experience with data center specific or equivalent equipment / environments, including switchgear, generators, chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, building controls, security monitoring systems, fire safety systems, and understanding of start up / commissioning processes.
As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you'll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You'll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.
The responsibilities of this role include managing multiple, simultaneous data center design projects from detailed design through construction administration and finally closeout and handover to operations, gathering internal requirements, generating potential options, presenting to the leadership team, and delivering design solutions that satisfy customers' needs, creating and managing strategies for the execution of designs that leverage a standard baseline plan of record, and overcoming critical tests while maintaining adherence to project timelines, quality and costs, and managing a cross-functional set of stakeholders.
