Responsibilities

Follow routine cleaning and maintenance procedures to maintain a high standard of safety, cleanliness and efficiency of building operations.

Job Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Ability to read, write and understand written and verbal instructions for cleaning, maintenance and safety procedures

Required Experience

A minimum of 90 days (or a period of time as determined by the custodian supervisor) as an LPISD Substitute custodian preferred or Experience in a custodial work environment preferred

Mental Demands / Physical Demands / Environmental Factors :

Tools / Equipment Used : Twenty-inch (20") rotos, automatic floor machines, carpet extractors, commercial vacuums, wet / dry vacuums, 24-and32-ounce wet mops, large wringers and other necessary equipment and tools, products and supplies.

Posture : Frequent standing, sitting, kneeling / squatting, bending / stooping, pushing / pulling, and twisting

Motion : Frequent walking, climbing stairs / ladders, grasping / squeezing, wrist flexion / extension, reaching, and overhead reaching

Lifting : Heavy lifting required up to forty-five (45) pounds unassisted frequently

Environment : Work is both outside and inside; exposure to hot and cold temperatures; exposure to dust, toxic chemicals, and materials; slippery or uneven walking surfaces; work on ladders required; may work alone

Mental Demands : Reading, writing, and understanding written and verbal instructions

Other Information

The district contributes $400 / monthly to the cost of "employee-only" health insurance which is $175 / monthly greater than the state required amount of $225 / monthly.
