Overview

A&Z Engineering is seeking a Senior Designer / Engineer to join our growing Fort Wayne team delivering planning and design services for transportation, site, and infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate is organized, communicative, and able to manage multiple projects while contributing to a collaborative, team-focused culture.

About the Role

You will lead plan development, specifications, analyses, and reports for public and private infrastructure projects. Work will include roadway, bridge, drainage, and utility design as well as site development. Responsibilities include preparing comprehensive plan sets with plan, profile, notes, and details; creating geometric layouts; and ensuring design accuracy through QA / QC procedures.

You’ll coordinate schedules, budgets, and resources; perform cost estimating; and maintain project profitability. Additional duties include mentoring junior staff, collaborating with engineers and designers, surveying new construction sites, assessing existing structures, and presenting project progress to senior managers and clients. Proficiency with Civil 3D or MicroStation is essential for preparing and reviewing CAD drawings and schematics.

Qualifications – Required

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering

10 + years of civil engineering experience

State-licensed and certified civil engineer

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Demonstrated leadership in managing complex infrastructure projects

Preferred Qualifications

Professional Engineer (PE), Indiana

Experience with drainage analysis and design

Expertise with Civil 3D and / or MicroStation

Proven ability to support QA / QC and maintain project profitability

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range $95,000 – $105,000 plus bonus program.
