Substitute Staffing Specialist

Spotsylvania County Public Schools is seeking a Substitute Staffing Specialist to manage the employment lifecycle of permanent long-term and daily substitute teachers within the Spotsylvania County Public School district. As a member of the Human Resources department this role may also assist with any projects or tasks related to the goals objectives and programs of the department.

Essential Functions :

• Prepares and posts job advertisements screening applications and arranges interviews.
• Reviews and codes all substitute teacher applications from the online application system.
• Prepares material for and conducts all substitute teacher orientations.
• Responsible for updating and preparing the substitute teacher handbook.
• Enters and maintains all substitute teachers data within HR software (MUNIS ERP etc.)
• Serves as the primary contact for all schools and departments regarding substitute teachers.
• Serves as the administrator for Substitute Tracking software (SmartFind Express Time Clock Plus) and provides training and updates for division administrators and other users.
• Works with schools and departments to keep substitute fulfillment rate high.
• Interprets and advises employees regarding leave management and benefit administration HR policies and procedures within the specified guidelines.
• Prepares reports related to substitute use employee absences fill rates and other pertinent data as requested.
• Maintains employee files and the HR filing system.

The work schedule for this position is 7.5 hours worked per day excluding lunch. This position is evaluated annually.
