We are seeking Concrete Finishers to work on our RiverRenew water / wastewater treatment project in Alexandria, VA. Required work will be from elevated heights.

Summary

Patch large concrete structures.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities Include The Following. Other Duties May Be Assigned.

• Slab / floor finishing
• Utilizing screeds / floats and finishing machines
• Signals concrete deliverer to position truck to facilitate pouring concrete.
• Moves discharge chute of truck to direct concrete into forms.
• Spreads concrete into inaccessible sections of forms with rake or shovel.
• Levels concrete to specified depth and workable consistency, with hand held screed and floats to bring water to surface and produce soft topping.
• Smooths and shapes surfaces of freshly poured concrete.
• Finishes concrete surfaces, or wets and rubs concrete with abrasive stone to impart finish.
• Removes rough or defective spots from concrete surfaces, and patches holes with fresh concrete or epoxy compound.
• Molds expansion joints and edges.
• Sprinkles colored stone chips, powdered steel, or coloring powder on concrete to produce prescribed finish.
• Produces rough concrete surface with broom.
• Mixes cement with hoe or concrete-mixing machine.
• Use of hand tools such as; hoe, trowel, tamper, and scraper.
• Breaks up and repairs old concrete surfaces.

Qualifications

Carpenter Training Program or equivalent, or experience in bridge work, i.e. bridge form work; read blue prints, read rule.

The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, occasionally loud.

Expected base pay range for this position is : $25.00 / hr - $33.00 / hr

This compensation range is specific to the job level and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to : education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. The range has been created in good faith based on information known to Kokosing at the time of the posting. Compensation decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each case. This salary range does not include any potential incentive pay or benefits, however, such information will be provided separately when appropriate.
