Job Title : SCADA Engineer

Location : Santa Ana, CA (Hybrid : 3-4 days onsite per week)

Contract Duration : 12 months

Work Authorization : U.S. Citizens or Green Card holders only

Employment Type : W2 (No C2C; candidates must be employed on client W2)

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced SCADA Engineer with expertise in PowerOn Reliance and C++ programming . In this role, you will design, implement, and maintain Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems, focusing on reliability, security, and performance optimization. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support mission-critical operations in the power and utility sector.

Key Responsibilities

Design and Development :

Analyze requirements and design SCADA systems using PowerOn Reliance .

Develop custom modules, libraries, and components in C++ to enhance system functionality.

Create HMI screens and design complex logic / control algorithms for SCADA applications.

System Integration :

Integrate SCADA systems with PLCs , RTUs , and IEDs .

Utilize SCADA protocols such as DNP3 and Modbus for seamless communication.

Troubleshooting and Maintenance :

Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to PowerOn Reliance , C++ , and SCADA systems.

Perform regular system upgrades, maintenance, and software patching to ensure optimal performance.

Cybersecurity :

Implement robust security measures to protect SCADA systems from vulnerabilities.

Apply secure coding practices in C++ and conduct risk assessments to enhance system integrity.

Documentation and Training :

Create detailed technical documentation, including system architecture and user manuals.

Provide training to end-users to ensure effective system utilization.

Project Management :

Collaborate with project managers to develop timelines, budgets, and risk mitigation strategies.

Monitor project progress to ensure timely delivery and quality.

Qualifications and Skills

Education :

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering , Computer Science , or a related field.

Relevant certifications are an added advantage.

Experience :

5+ years of experience as a SCADA Engineer.

Proven expertise with PowerOn Reliance and C++ programming .

Technical Proficiency :

In-depth knowledge of SCADA concepts, protocols ( DNP3 , Modbus ), and communication technologies.

Hands-on experience integrating SCADA systems with PLCs , RTUs , and IEDs .

Skilled in developing HMI screens and designing logic / control algorithms.

Cybersecurity :

Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices for SCADA systems.

Ability to apply secure coding practices in C++ .

Soft Skills :

Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and prioritize tasks.

Project Management :

Experience managing project timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
