Scheck Hillel Community School , a large Orthodox Jewish community school located in sunny North Miami Beach, Florida, is currently accepting resumes for experienced full-time Upper Elementary (3rd-5th) General Studies Teachers for the 2025-2026 school year. Scheck Hillel is a nationally recognized college preparatory and Jewish community day school.

Summary The Lower School General Studies Teacher will plan, organize, and implement the Scheck Hillel instructional program in a primary or elementary learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their individual academic and social-emotional potential.

Specifically, this position is designed to implement and realize the Scheck Hillel educational vision for students & faculty. The ideal candidate will have a growth mindset, a strong background in education and a genuine love for teaching children.

The Lower School General Studies Teacher will be responsible for teaching students in the Lower School a variety of subjects and skills, including social-emotional learning, language arts, math, and social studies.

Responsibilities Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning and encourages student engagement colleagues to ensure a cohesive and effective curriculum.
• Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning that meet the needs of all learners.
• Communicate clear learning targets & success criteria to students for all learning activities.
• Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment.
• Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.
• Develop formative and summative assessments in accordance with established procedures.
• Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies.
• Manage student behavior in the classroom to facilitate learning.
• Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school.
• Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development as required by laws and school policies. Communicate consistently and in a timely manner with parents on their child’s academic and behavioral attitudes and achievements.
• Maintain safety & security of the students in the classroom and common school areas. Supervise students at various school functions such as field and overnight trips, school assemblies.
• Attend all parent teacher conferences, back to school nights, faculty meetings, and substitute in one class per week as needed.

Supervise lunch and recess. Support the team with carpool and dismissal procedures.
