This position is ideal for detail-oriented professionals seeking growth opportunities in the surety underwriting field.

The Underwriting Assistant provides administrative and technical support to the Surety underwriting team, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely service delivery. This individual acts as a key liaison between underwriters, and agency partners, contributing to the department's overall success.

Primary Responsibilities

• Support underwriters by preparing documentation, reports, and correspondence to facilitate underwriting decisions.
• Issue, invoice, and maintain bond documentation,
• Prepare indemnity agreements and other miscellaneous agreements.
• Maintain electronic underwriting files and ensure organized, accurate record keeping.
• Provide exceptional client service by responding promptly to agency inquiries.
• Manage daily workflow, including emails, mail, and tracking follow-ups using suspense calendars.
• Close bonds - billing additional / return premiums as necessary
• Troubleshooting with our Accounting team as necessary to resolve discrepancies
• Assist with other administrative duties as needed.
• Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned.
