Job Summary

Miscellaneous Metals, Inc., an award-winning specialty trade contractor, is seeking a  CDL Driver (Class A)  to join our team! The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of safe driving, reliability, and a strong focus on safety while transporting materials locally within the DMV area. Responsibilities

• Safely operate a Class A commercial vehicle, including 47’ and / or 55’ trailers, to transport materials to and from job sites in the DMV area.
• Ensure compliance with all DOT regulations and company safety policies.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the vehicle is in safe operating condition and report any vehicle defects or safety issues promptly to the management team.
• Secure and unload materials as needed.
• Ensure all required DOT documentation is completed, including delivery logs, receipts, and vehicle maintenance records.
• Maintain a clean driving record and comply with all DOT regulations and company safety policies.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch, supervisors, and site personnel.
• Represent the company professionally when interacting with clients and vendors.

Requirements

One plus years of commercial driving experience required.

Valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record (DMV / MVR record with no major violations or accidents within the last 3 years).

Must currently hold or be able to obtain a non-excepted interstate DOT medical card.

Ability to drive a manual transmission .

Strong focus on safety and reliability.

Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and operate the vehicle safely.

Strong work ethic.

Excellent time management skills and ability to work independently.

Must be able to pass background checks and drug screenings as required by company policies.

Essential Physical Functions :

Ability to see and hear clearly to ensure safe driving.

Ability to safely and frequently enter and exit the vehicle.

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.

Ability to maintain focus and stay alert while driving for extended periods.

Ability to work in all weather conditions and perform vehicle maintenance tasks, as needed.

Additional Requirements :

Must be at least 21 years old due to interstate driving requirements.

Ability to meet FMCSA drug and alcohol testing requirements, including pre-employment, random, and post-accident testing.

Maintain a valid DOT medical card throughout employment.

Pay : $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours : 35 – 40 per week
