The Tax Accountant works closely with and under the direction of the Tax Manager & Tax Director to provide support for tax & regulatory compliance, research and planning. The Tax Accountant will also work closely with finance, billing and customer service to answer tax-related inquiries. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, eager to learn, and thrives in a collaborative environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Prepare and file federal, state and local tax and regulatory returns and remit required payments on a timely basis.
• Research technical tax and regulatory issues.
• Reconcile tax general ledger accounts and ensure that taxes and surcharges collected agree with what has been submitted for payment.
• Maintain tax and regulatory calendar to ensure all returns are completed timely.
• Collaborate with team to complete special projects and meeting department deadlines.
• Support Sales & Use Tax and Property Tax filings and audits as needed.
• Provide timely responses to inquiries and requests for information both internally and externally.
• Take initiative on additional tasks and projects as assigned by supervisor.
• Assist with property tax, regulatory and sales tax mailings.
