[job_card.job_description]Evaluating patient history and physician orders to ensure appropriate procedures are performed. Assisting physicians in special procedures as needed to uphold the standards of care. Accessing and handling selected medications as appropriate. Conducting Quality Control checks in accordance with industry regulations and notifying supervisors of maintenance needs to ensure optimal equipment functionality. Maintaining accurate documentation in the Radiology Information System to track patient procedures. Communicating with patients to explain procedures and ensure their comfort during examinations. Fostering positive working relationships with colleagues, medical staff, patients, and visitors to enhance workflow efficiency. Providing training and supervision to radiology students during their rotation in the mammography area. Identifying opportunities for process improvements and recommending enhancements to supervisors. Staying informed about the latest developments and trends in mammography by attending seminars and reading professional literature. Participating in departmental Performance Improvement Programs and attending required meetings. Performing additional duties as assigned. Contributing to the continuous improvement of work processes and customer satisfaction. Maintaining knowledge of regulatory requirements and ensuring adherence to standards established by accreditation agencies. Seeking advice and guidance to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Mammography Technologist is required. ARRT certification is mandatory; ARRT Advanced Certification in Mammography is preferred. Experience with screening, diagnostic mammograms, and assisting with biopsies and needle localizations is highly preferred. Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) certification from the Texas Department of State Health Services or Texas Medical Board is required.
