Senior Engineering Technician

Bolton & Menk has a great opportunity for a Senior Engineering Technician to join our Transportation team! We are looking to add a Senior Engineering Technician who will help foster our mission that All People Should Live in Safe, Sustainable and Beautiful Communities! This role will include a focus on drafting & office activities as needed.

What You Will Be Doing:

• Perform engineering project design and drafting from working sketches and field data in Civil3D software. Duties include routine testing and construction observation on municipal projects
• Assist with design and construction phase activities on municipal projects
• Perform complex and detailed engineering design computations, detailed drafting and plan production work
• Actively participate in the development and preparation of plans and specifications for projects
• Prepare cost and quantity take-off estimates
• Provide technical advice regarding construction modifications and repairs to clients, contractors, and project engineers
• Construction observation and administration activities including construction staking, documenting contractor activities, measuring and testing, inspections, and interacting with contractors, sub-contractors, residents and City staff

What We Are Looking For:

• Associate Degree in Civil Engineering Technology from an accredited institution or plus Eight (8) years of related experience preferred
• Previous experience with infrastructure design and/or construction observation
• Must be capable of working in extended outdoor conditions and you must be physically capable of navigating rugged terrain for the purpose of performing the construction observation duties
• Excellent knowledge and skills in CAD and design software. (i.e., AutoCAD Civil3D, MicroStation)
• Working knowledge and experience working with MnDOT standard specifications, standard plans, and standard plates
• Working knowledge of design and construction techniques and procedures
• Must possess a valid drivers license and your own transportation. You will be reimbursed for business-related travel

Salary Range: $60,000 - $130,000 depending on years of experience and credentials
