Phlebotomist
Collects and processes blood specimens for testing in the laboratory. Responsibilities include collecting blood specimens using age-appropriate techniques, labeling, processing, and delivering specimens for testing, maintaining supplies and equipment, and performing additional tasks as necessary or assigned. Within the scope of the job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
Requirements include a minimum required education of a high school diploma or GED, completion of an accredited phlebotomy program, and basic life support (BLS) healthcare provider certification. Minimum experience is not required. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.
