Deployment Engineer

Under general and as-needed supervision, builds, deploys and maintains desktops in a multi-site environment, utilizing automated management tools, i.e. SCCM. Handles image maintenance and patch management for 3000+ desktops. Develops and improves automated processes to manage Windows desktop systems through the full life cycle. Develops and follows procedures as necessary to coordinate the software distribution aspect of corporate and / or IT projects.

Principal Responsibilities :

• Responsible for creating, customizing, deploying and automating software packages using SCCM
• Responsible for virtualizing certain client applications using Microsoft App-V
• Responsible for management and distribution of monthly desktop security patches for Windows, Office, et al
• Responsible for creating / managing Operating System images for different hardware models supported throughout the company
• Plans for software upgrades, new releases, and migration to new systems
• Perform installation, maintenance and support of system software
• Creating and deploying Group Policy Objects which affect the client machines and end users
• Resolving relevant Help Desk tickets that are escalated to the candidates group
• Working on an infrastructure type team, interacting with several other teams, supporting at least 3,000 client machines spread geographically across multiple sites and multiple domains
