We are looking for an Applications Engineer to join our team in Ventura, CA!
Role Summary :
Applications Engineers serve as the go-to technical experts for the sales team, owning the technical evaluation phase of the sales cycle. Partnering closely with sales as the lead product champion and advisor, you'll pinpoint and deliver dependable solutions to every technical challenge, guaranteeing total client satisfaction from initial contact through deal close. You'll also build and nurture lasting relationships across the entire sales journey.
Core Responsibilities :
- Stay at the forefront of product expertise and real-world applications.
- Clearly explain technology and product value to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Leverage market insights and competitor analysis to sharpen the company's unique advantages and spot product evolution opportunities.
- Handle RFI / RFP technical and functional sections with precision.
- Proactively research and cultivate relationships with prospective clients to guide product strategy.
- Capture, interpret, and relay customer needs accurately.
- Deliver targeted technical and product training to sales teams and key accounts.
- Keep detailed, up-to-date records of accounts, pipelines, quotes, projects, and communications in approved systems.
- Resolve client challenges in line with company principles, values, and profitability goals.
- Assist regional and global sales reps with switch-related inquiries.
- Independently quote custom switch solutions and partner with engineering to unlock new possibilities.
- Provide monthly input for the business development report.
- Own the full technical client lifecycle-from pre-RFQ discovery through post-delivery support.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.1 + years of engineering experience.Deep product and technical mastery.Ability to interpret architectural, mechanical, and electrical drawings and grasp fundamental specifications.Proven ability to juggle priorities and hit deadlines across multiple projects.Exceptional communication skills-clear presenter, confident responder.Comfort managing demanding clients and making smart, independent calls.Proactive problem-spotter with practical solution recommendations.Willingness to go the extra mile to delight customers and meet commitments.Self-starter who executes plans with minimal oversight.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.Skilled in Microsoft Visio and SolidWorks.Solid grasp of networking fundamentals (Internet, Intranet, VPN, TCP / IP, Ethernet, etc.).Strong interpersonal, organizational, and presentation abilities.Willing to travel up to 20-25%Benefits
