Responsibilities

Position Summary :

This position performs the tasks associated with advanced machine operation which include setup and operation of, trim presses, drilling and tapping, port and stem, vibratory systems and parts washing. The employee in this position has been cross trained and is fluent in setup, operation, and troubleshooting the various equipment to produce quality parts. The advanced machine operator can independently perform these tasks with minimal input from the machine shop supervisor and is available to train basic machine operators in the setup of individual machines through on-the-job training.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

• To perform any of the machine operations as assigned by the Production Lead or Production Manager.
• Has the ability and proficiency to setup and operate assigned machine(s) in department / cell.
• Works in quality conscious and safe manner.
• Ability to perform work at process speed and / or standard rates.
• Advises Production Lead or Production Manager of any problems with tools, equipment, fixtures, materials, or setup operation.
• Maintains daily product and scrap records.
• Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Production Manager or Production Lead.
• Keeps workstation and surrounding area clean.
• Maintain all assigned tools.
• Any other duties required by management.

While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, lift, move, and handle products, materials, tools, and controls. The employee frequently is required to stand, periodically may sit, reach with hands and arms, walk, or climb with legs and talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, pull, bend, twist, squat, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must routinely lift and / or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and / or more up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. Good manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination are required.
